How Much Water Do I Drink

Drinking enough water is very important to your health.  Most people are confused about how much water they should drink in a day.  The ideal amount varies by person depending on your weight, but the minimum for adults is to drink eight, 8-ounce glasses of water - for a grand total of 64 ounces - per day or you take 1/2 of your body weight in ounces daily.

For example, if you weigh 100 pounds then drink 50 ounces of water a day.  It is also best to drink your water at room temperature. This keeps you from shocking your system.  If you're thinking "Gosh, that's a lot of water or I never feel that thirsty," then listen to this: if you feel thirsty, then your body is already a quart  (32 ounces) low!

It's best to start drinking water first thing in the morning. Skip the apple juice, orange juice, coffee, and go straight for that glass of water. This will help fill you up so you won't be tempted to overeat. Drink water throughout the day so your body has time to absorb it.
